The Hosts

Myra & Richard have been running Alderwood Bed & Breakfast for about thirty years owing their longevity to the immense pleasure they take in welcoming people to their home. They especially enjoy sharing breakfast with their guests and consider themselves fortunate to be able to start each day with charming company, delightful conversation, and hearty and healthy fare.

Myra is a former management consultant who has returned to her primary passion, oil painting. She also loves photography and captures many images that become inspiration for her paintings. Richard was an Engineering Manager in Industry for 35 years before becoming a consultant to Fortune 500 companies.

Together Myra and Richard have travelled the world visiting about 35 countries on 6 continents. Myra brings her sketch book, journal and her camera, and Richard keeps them on track. Their home showcases many beautiful and unique artifacts from their travels, and Myra’s paintings reflect the places that have cast a spell.

The most enchanting creature in residence at Alderwood is Precious, a Siamese cat, who tends to be somewhat shy initially, but is gentle and loving when you get to know him. He, together with Myra & Richard, look forward to welcoming you to Alderwood Bed & Breakfast.
